Amidst her blossoming relationship with Carla Connor, it was revealed that Lisa’s partner was killed in the line of duty, with the pair sharing a daughter, Betsy, who made her way to Weatherfield last summer.
Her colleague PC Craig Tinker’s death once again challenged Lisa and Carla’s relationship, as it brought back memories of Lisa’s late partner.
It was recently revealed that, before her death, Becky was being investigated by the anti-corruption unit, and Lisa was keen for Betsy not to find out.
She emotionally told how she and Becky had fought over the allegations the day Becky was killed, and while the investigation was dropped, she didn’t get the funeral she felt she deserved.
It was then during her last therapy session that Lisa opened up to therapist Floyd, telling him that she was sure there was more to Becky’s than she was ever told and is worried that it was something to do with the corruption investigation.
She tried to do her own digging, only to be caught by her boss, DI Costello. But before he did, Lisa was searching his email to see if there was any mention of Becky and was stunned to find a request from Kit asking for access to Becky’s file.
She later confronted Kit in the Rovers about his interest in her late wife. However, Kit’s digging has since been revealed not to just be about Becky, but also Costello.

This week, Costello was heard warning Lisa about keeping things professional with her colleague, with fears he might bring her down with his own antics. It came after she discovered he’d written a note with Costello’s name and a phone number following a phone call in their shared office.
Then, during the latest episode o Corrie, Kit was called into the station by Costello, who later informed him he was being put on desk duties following his run-in with Underworld client, Eli.
But Kit tell was told to tell anyone who asked that it was because of his injuries. Lisa didn’t buy the excuse and told Kit that if he was having issues with Costello then she could help. He stuck to his excuse.
However, later, Kit finally admitted that he was suspicious of Costello because he’s not usually as easy on the people in his team. He then made his suspicions know to his boss during their meeting
Costello snapped, telling him to remember who he was talking to and saying: “I’m a man of integrity. I have nothing to hide.” But Kit, smirking, simply replied: “That’s not strictly true that, is it?” Then, as he got up to leave Costello sternly warned him: “Tread carefully DC Green.”
But away from the drama between the Weatherfield Police detectives, Corrie fans think the drama will really come later in the year as they predicted when Becky’s ‘return’ may play out.
On Reddit, one user said: “I’m calling it now. Christmas episode storyline. Carla and Lisa get engaged and plan a wedding. Who comes in to object to the wedding? The not dead Becky Swain who’s either faked their death or has been in witness protection. All because of the dirt she has on Costello.”
Another replied: “You missed the part where they are forced to get married at the hospital or the police station.” But a fan also commented: “Meh. I can’t see someone who’s gone to great lengths to fake their death walking into a room full of people who would all then know her true identity!”
