Chicago Fire Fans Don’t Hold Back About Carver/Violet Kiss

The finale of Chicago Fire’s latest episode left the show’s fans utterly frustrated.

Chicago Fire has long been accused of rather questionable decisions when it comes to relationships between characters, but Season 12 just keeps on giving…more incoherent plot twists. From Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd to Sam Carver and Violet Mikami, there’s only one question fans have, and it’s “Why are they doing this?”

Chicago Fire S12 Doesn’t Fix Its Romances

While Severide and Kidd keep doing their thing when they blame each other, don’t communicate, and resort to passion instead of working on their relationship, a new couple seemingly emerged before us in the last episode’s finale. Carver and Violet unexpectedly hit it off with a steamy kiss before leaving the bar together for the night.

Some viewers were lowkey rooting for the two to get together, but at this point in the series, nothing’s been pointing at Sam and Violet becoming a couple. Violet has great chemistry with Gallo, say, and there’s obvious tension between Carver and Kidd, but… Sam and Violet don’t have that sort of thing going between them yet.

Chicago Fire Fans Hated The Sudden Kiss

The unjustified relationship jump from borderline strangers to an immediate hook-up between Carver and Violet left many Chicago Fire fans frustrated with the writing.

“[Sam and Violet’s chemistry is] more than Kidd and Severide have, but still not much, and what is there felt more sibling than sexual, lol. Just wish they’d have B storylines for characters that didn’t just involve them boning everyone with a pulse, lol,” Reddit user Canadiantx69 quipped.

Others pointed out that even if Carver and Violet were to have a relationship eventually, there must have been a proper build-up. The two of them were not even on friendly terms, really, so the sudden passion between them in the last episode’s finale felt rushed at best… And forced at worst, just as Sam and Violet’s whole affair.
