Coronation Street favourite to return to the cobbles after losing new job

A Coronation Street favourite could be set to return to the cobbles after losing their brand new job abroad.

Tonight’s episode of the ITV soap saw Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) make her long-awaited return, after hearing about Ken Barlow’s (William Roache) recent financial decisions.

It all kicked off in the Barlow household just before Ken went away on holiday, after the family found out he’d had a big win on premium bonds and had been encouraged by Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) not to share any of the cash with Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), who had been scammed out of her inheritance by The Institute.

Having caught wind of this, Tracy rushed back to Weatherfield to confront Cassie, before ordering her out of the house.

Cassie was adamant that Ken had reinstated her position as his carer, but Tracy remained firm.

When Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) took Tracy’s side, Cassie was hurt, and brought up their one night stand, which left Tracy stunned.

Later, Tracy wasted no time in mocking Steve for his romantic night with Cassie, before revealing that she planned to stay in Weatherfield long-term.

Steve seemed hopeful as he asked if things had ended between her and his former footballing idol Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn), but she assured him that their relationship was still on.

However, she revealed that he had decided to move on from his coaching job at the new club, which Steve took to mean that he had been sacked.

With Tracy stating that they would be looking to move in somewhere local, is Tommy set to join her in returning to the cobbles?
