Coronation Street icon’s very unexpected new job ahead of character’s d/e/a/th

Coronation Street icon Colson Smith has finished filming on the ITV soap, and has now turned his hand to something very different.
The Craig Tinker actor announced his departure from the cobbles earlier this year, after 14 years on the show.
Now, he has taken to Instagram to show how he has been spending some of his time since leaving Corrie.
Alongside a picture of him with some adorable new born lambs, Colson revealed that he had been helping on a farm during lambing season.
‘Spent my Sunday delivering lambs. Midwife mode: activated,’ he wrote beneath the sweet picture.
Fans were quick to flock to the comments, sharing their support.

‘Well done mate! That’s so special,’ one wrote, while another added: ‘You are the best, Colson!’
‘Aww Colson is off to become a farmer now he’s left Coronation street,’ a third said.
It was previously confirmed that Colson’s exit from Coronation Street will be a permanent one, with the character set to die in heroic circumstances this summer.
Speaking about his exit, Colson said: ‘Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker’s time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025.
‘I’ve loved every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the greatest street in the world. I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation Street.

‘I’ve learned pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home. I’m excited to play out the exit story for our Craigy. For me, this is the end of the beginning.
‘I genuinely can’t wait to see what chapter two has in store for me.’
Colson previously revealed that he just missed out on achieving his life goal of appearing in 1000 episodes of the Manchester-based soap.
‘They’ve said it’s 14 [years]. Less than a thousand episodes though. That was my goal in life. I think I’m 150 off,’ he explained.
