Coronation Street legend would love to return – but she’s not been asked back
Helen Flanagan has revealed she is still waiting for an invitation to return to Coronation Street.
The actress has regularly expressed her interest in reprising her role as Rosie Webster in the ITV soap.
The character was last seen in 2018 when Helen left the cobbles to go on maternity leave, ahead of the birth of her third child.
She was asked about the possibility of a soap return as she attended the opening of Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland in Lodon.
Speaking to the Express, she said she would be keen to return for a special episode – but there’s one problem.
‘I’d absolutely love to, but they haven’t invited me back,’ she said.
‘I suppose they’d need to ask me!’
Earlier this year, Helen worked out how she’d like to see her character return to the street.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine back in September, she said: ‘I would like Rosie to come back with loads of kids and cause chaos and fob them off to [her mum] Sally and just be wild.’
Helen first hit our screens all the way back in 2000 when she took over the role of Rosie at the age of nine.
She left Corrie in 2012 to pursue other interests as Rosie also tried to build a modelling career in London.
Helen returned to the show five years later, with her character appearing for just over a year before her latest exit.
The 34-year-old star is also known for her appearances on reality TV shows, including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Celebs Go Dating.
