Former Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell has expressed her sadness over Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) cheating on Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
The actress played Emma Brooker in the ITV soap from 2018-2022. In 2019, a story aired that saw Emma discover her biological father was actually Steve, making Tracy her step-mum.
Poor her!
Emma departed life in Weatherfield back in 2022, choosing to move to Australia with boyfriend Jon.
Recently, the beloved character was mentioned when Steve left the cobbles to meet Emma for a catchup in France. While Steve was looking forward to seeing his daughter, he had no idea the trip away marked the start of a new storyline for Tracy.
As Steve was enjoying the French cuisine, Tracy was getting to know footballing hero Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn) – in more ways than one.
When Steve returned, Tracy and Tommy tried to put distance between them, but seemingly struggled to resist each other.
The sneaking around didn’t last for much longer, however, as Tim (Joe Duttine) ended up spotting Tracy and Tommy together when he was helping Gav (Noah Olaoye) with window cleaning.
In Monday’s (February 26) episode of the ITV soap, Tim told Steve absolutely everything. He was gutted but during a confrontation with Tracy, Steve was left stunned by what she had to say.
Tracy ended up telling Steve that she doesn’t love him anymore. She said she was tired of their marriage and needed some excitement, and poor Steve was heartbroken.
These scenes were recently shared on Coronation Street’s Instagram account, prompting replies from many fans – including Alexandra Mardell.
Reacting to the betrayal, she simply put ‘gutted’.
Alexandra tied the knot with partner Joe Parker last year.
She exchanged vows with Joe at The Tithe Barn in Bolton Abbey, in Skipton, North Yorkshire on March 19.
They announced their engagement in April 2021, with the cobbles star making the announcement at the time on social media.
