Coronation Street’s Lisa Swain makes huge confession to Carla Connor amid sepsis scare
Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) has finally confessed her love for Carla Connor (Alison King) in Coronation Street, and we’re over the moon.
Lisa and Carla made their relationship official in November, and have faced a few minor hiccups along the way.
However, recent scenes revealed that Carla planned to end the relationship altogether, after being rushed to hospital with sepsis.
With Lisa having already suffered the loss of wife Becky, Carla was terrified that she would run after learning of Carla’s condition, and decided that she would end things before Lisa got the chance.
When Lisa called to ask Carla where she was, the factory boss made out that she was at the airport, planning to spend her birthday in Ireland with best friend Michelle Connor.
However, her lies soon unravelled when Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) returned to Weatherfield and set Lisa on the right path.
With both Ryan and Lisa in the dark about Carla’s condition, they confronted Roy, who was under strict instructions not to tell Lisa what had happened.
Asking good-natured Roy to lie was never going to have the desired outcome, and soon Carla was face to face with Lisa in the hospital.
Lisa was adamant that she didn’t like being lied to, but when Carla refused to divulge the true extent of her illness, the detective sergeant stormed off to work.
Later, Carla was left shaken when the doctors revealed that her kidney had been damaged by the infection.
Carla questioned the next steps, with transplants and dialysis being discussed, leading Carla to worry about how drastically her life expectancy might decrease.
The doctor assured her that these were worst-case scenarios, but Carla couldn’t help worrying.
With Carla clearly struggling, Ryan made a call to Lisa, who rushed to her girlfriend’s bedside to offer her support and apologise for her earlier outburst.
As Carla revealed the truth about her kidney damage, she gave Lisa the opportunity to run, explaining that she knew it wasn’t what she had signed up for.
However, Lisa insisted that it was too late, before confessing to Carla that she loved her.
With Lisa promising to stay by her side every step of the way, will Carla be able to get through the difficult health journey she faces ahead?
