As if Wednesday could be any edgier.
Since Jenna Ortega and Aubrey Plaza’s chemistry on the SAG Awards stage has blown up the internet, fans keep dreaming about Plaza appearing in Wednesday opposite Ortega’s character.
They are not alone, that would be the duo to die for! The internet has been buzzing since the show’s release (even before the two appeared at the SAG Awards together).
Many are speculating if Ortega was in fact inspired by Plaza’s Parks and Rec character and her unique personality and based her Wednesday off of her.
We might never know the right answer but we are more than happy with the outcome! Who cares how we got there?
Most fans are thoroughly convinced that our favorite deadpan-famous actress should only be cast as adult Wednesday (and anything less is unacceptable!) and appear in a flashforward episode in the next season.
That is not a dream, that is the dream.
Following Plaza’s Actually Me appearance for GQ, people have been joking that she would be perfect to play newly divorced Wednesday, though the actress herself believes that she is “more in the Morticia [Addams] casting pool at this point.”
Good one, Aubrey, either way – we just want to see you in Wednesday asap!
Other fans would be perfectly content if she at least made a cameo as Wednesday’s long-lost aunt or sister (long-lost anyone really). Attention! Ophelia Frump is found, Wednesday creators.
Another great idea that the show lovers have had is to bring Plaza in as the new Nevermore Academy headmistress for Season 2 (or maybe even Seasons 3, 4, 5…).
That actually seems more feasible than the rest of the theories, right? Fingers crossed!
Well, we can keep on dreaming and hoping that the show creators will take note (and do as the fans’ hearts desire) but do not be too upset if none of that happens in the nearest future.
Nothing is confirmed or even discussed at this point, though as soon as something is, we will be the first ones to let you know. Cross our hearts and hope not to die while waiting for Season 2…
