Hope for major Coronation Street couple as they reunite against all odds

A major Coronation Street couple have reunited despite all the odds having been stacked against them.

Facing a life behind bars, terrified Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) called it quits on her relationship with Max Turner (Paddy Bever), encouraging him to move on with his life and forget about her.

Max was totally devastated by her rejection, having clearly fallen in love with her.

However, the tables turned for Lauren when she was found not guilty of Joel Deering’s murder in recent scenes, meaning that she and Max were free to be together.

Unfortunately, Lauren’s future with son Frankie was still at risk, as Gus Deering made it clear that he wouldn’t let her have custody of him without a fight.

With Frankie fighting an infection in hospital and Gus breathing down her neck, Lauren has had a lot on her plate.

Thankfully, things began to look up in tonight’s episode when doctors informed Lauren that Frankie would soon be well enough to head home.

However, when Anthea Deering later arrived at the hospital, Lauren’s good mood was clouded.

In an unexpected turn of events, Anthea actually apologised for Gus’ behaviour and for supporting Joel, before assuring Lauren that she planned on dropping the custody battle for baby Frankie altogether.

With everything finally going Lauren’s way, Max pointed out what a relief it must be to be through the other side of her struggles.

Lauren agreed, but admitted it would be tough not seeing Max as often once she moved back into her foster home.

However, Max promised that he wasn’t going anywhere, before revealing that he wanted the two of them and baby Frankie to be a real family.

Though Lauren was unsure at first, Max admitted that he loved her, and she agreed to give things another go, as they shared a kiss.
