ITV Coronation Street resident alarmed over sudden exit news as character to leave after 17 years

One Coronation Street character was seen confronting a friend on the ITV soap on Monday night, as they learned the sad news they planned to leave the street for good

Coronation Street aired some sad news for one character, after an exit plan was confirmed on Monday night.

One character uncovered their friend’s plan to flee Weatherfield for good after recent drama. Two characters are set to depart the show this week in a sudden exit decision.

Debbie Webster learned this alarming news in the latest episode of the ITV soap, and she was quick to confront the departing character in question. She had found out Ryan Connor was moving away with his new girlfriend Crystal, just weeks into their romance.

She could not believe it when Crystal broke the news to her, that they planned to move to Glasgow. Not only that, but they were leaving the very next day.

Debbie stormed round to Ryan’s flat to have it out with him, begging him not to go and questioning how he really felt about Crystal. But Ryan stood his ground and said he liked Crystal, and they would be leaving for good the next day.

Debbie had asked: “Why are you going to Glasgow with someone you barely know? Running away won’t solve anything.” As she brought up his feelings for Daisy Midgeley, he told her it was never going to work out for them.

She replied: “You haven’t really tried… it’s no reason to leave all your family and friends. If you’re not truly committed to her that’s an accident waiting to happen.” Ryan told her: “I need this and I want a fresh start and I am gonna have it. I’m leaving regardless of what you or anyone else thinks.”

Spoilers released recently confirmed the character was departing the Cobbles soon, amid the bombshell reveal over his fling with Daisy. Spoilers reveal after deciding to leave, he says his goodbyes to residents including his aunt Carla Connor and heads off in a taxi.

While it’s not been confirmed that this is a permanent exit for the character, Ryan Prescott’s character will seemingly leave the show as part of the storyline. Spoilers do not reveal he will be on screen after this date.

Ryan has been through a lot this year, with a life-changing incident earlier this year seeing him be attacked with acid. Ryan suffered severe burns to his face and body after stopping Daisy’s stalker from throwing the substance at her.

After months of hospital treatment, Ryan struggled to settle back into life on the street. Crystal had cruelly rejected him earlier this year after the attack, but in recent weeks she returned and realised she liked Ryan.

What she didn’t know though was that Ryan had fallen in love with Daisy, with Daisy also having feelings for him despite her being engaged to Daniel Osbourne. But it seems Ryan has moved on, and after being offered the opportunity to live in Glasgow, he agreed.

Ryan’s final scenes will air on Wednesday December 20 as he bids farewell to the cobbles.
