Katee Sackhoff Offers Encouraging Update on Bo-Katan’s Return Amid The Mandalorian and Grogu Rumors

SA fan-favorite character from Star Wars: The Mandalorian seems poised to return amid rumors of a potential The Mandalorian and Grogu appearance. Acclaimed actor Katee Sackhoff offers an encouraging update on whether fans will see Mandalore ruler Bo-Katan Kryze again.

Speaking with Screen RantSackhoff insisted Bo-Katan is appearing “in some form,” though when The Mandalorian and Grogu was mentioned, she smiled and pretended to be oblivious to the news of the Jon Favreau film wrapping production last December.

“You will see her again in some form. That’s all you need to know,” she said. Sackhoff also joked that she has job security in the Star Wars universe thanks to her connections with Dave Filoni, the sci-fi franchise’s long-time producer. “Dave Filoni cannot get rid of me, because Bo Katan is based off of his wife, so I’ve got some job security,” she said.

Bo-Katan has been a consistent fixture in the Star Wars world since the animated series, The Clone Wars, when Sackhoff first voiced the character, reprising the role in Rebels soon thereafter. Sackhoff made her live-action debut as Bo-Katan in The Mandalorian in Season 2, with Season 3 putting her character in a more prominent position after she acquired the prominent Darksaber from Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), and the power over Mandalore that accompanied it.

Following the announcement of The Mandalorian and Grogu early last year, it’s been widely speculated whether there would be a Season 4 of The Mandalorian, with Favreau offering little solace for fans hoping to see more of the critically acclaimed show. Sackhoff previously stated that she believes Bo-Katan’s Star Wars return will happen, though not necessarily in anything related to The MandalorianShe also denied that Bo-Katan would take over from Din Djarin as The Mandalorian‘s lead character despite the Darksaber switch, should the series come back.

The Mandalorian and Grogu will pair Pascal’s Mandalorian bounty hunter and his trusted companion, an infant who’s of the same species as Yoda. The film, penned and produced by Favreau and Filoni, also features the Star Wars debut of Avatar and Aliens franchise star Sigourney Weaver, who portrays a veteran pilot for the Rebel Alliance. Additionally, The Bear‘s Jeremy Allen White plays Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt, and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland‘s Jonny Coyne as an Imperial Warlord.

The Mandalorian and Grogu Is Coming in 2026

Favreau and Filoni presented initial footage from The Mandalorian and Grogu at Disney’s D23 expo last summer, with a panel about the film taking place at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan this past April. The film reportedly cost as much as it did to film an entire season of The Mandalorian.

Fans can stream The Mandalorian via Disney+. Meanwhile, The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in theaters on May 22, 2026.
