Pedro Pascal Makes a Bold Claim About His Upcoming ‘Star Wars’ Movie

Appearing on the red carpet at Star Wars Celebration Japan recently, Pascal was approached by the good folks at IMDb, and discussed a little of what’s to come in The Mandalorian & Grogu. He had high praise for both the sets and creator/director Jon Favreau, noting that “the series alone had some of the most incredible sets that I’ve ever seen in my life, and the way that they top that in the movie is not anything I thought was possible.” He added:
“There have been so many instances where I’ve just looked back at Jon and said directly to him, ‘How the hell did you do this?’ I think he’s a genius, and I realized that he is my Jedi Master. The overview that he has of this kind of storytelling in terms of the world building, the characters – old and new – and his casting, he’s just a genius. And so the sets match that standard completely.”
Impressive set pieces aside, what Star Wars fans really want to know about is the plot of The Mandalorian & Grogu. Little is known about the film at this point, and though Pascal didn’t give away any details, he did mention that it’s going to be a cinematic experience like no other, which led to him making a bold claim:
Pedro Pascal Is Joined by a True Legend in ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’

In addition to Pascal, The Mandalorian & Grogu will also feature franchise newcomer and genre legend Sigourney Weaver, who is set to join the galaxy far far away as a veteran pilot for the Rebel Alliance after leading the Alien series for many years. For her, being a part of the Star Wars family was not something she expected at this point in her career, but when Favreau and company came knocking, it was just too good to pass up. As she told IMDb:
“I love that there’s a lot of reality to these movies as well as fantasy. I just feel very honored to be part of it. I didn’t expect to join another franchise, and what a cool franchise.”
Cool, indeed, as in addition to Weaver, The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is also joining Star Wars for the first time as Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta, and Jonny Coyne is on board to reprise his role from the series as an Imperial Warlord. We’ll continue to keep you updated on The Mandalorian & Grogu as the year progresses, but until then, you can check out all three seasons of the series streaming now on Disney+.
