The Witcher Season 4 Is Reportedly Recasting Another Fan-Favorite Character

The Witcher has been facing endless backlash ever since Netflix announced that Henry Cavill was stepping down as Geralt two years ago. But it doesn’t end there.

According to Redanian Intelligence, Geralt’s iconic mentor Vesemir has also been recast. There’s no word on who will fill Kim Bodnia’s shoes just yet, or even why he left the show, but with Season 4 wrapping in the next few weeks, perhaps we’ll find out more from Netflix soon enough.

The only original witchers set to return in Season 4 are Lambert and Coen, played by Paul Bullion and Zates Atour. However, it won’t be a complete reunion, as the show killed off Eskel (played by Basil Eidebenz) in an incredibly controversial twist.

The Witcher Season 5 Will Be The Last

Liam Hemsworth is taking over as Geralt of Rivia, but hsi tenure will be a short-lived one, as the show is ending with its next season. We only just got our first official look at him in costume this May in a brief, one minute teaser, and many are still unconvinced by his casting.

Hemsworth only spoke about taking on the role publicly for the first time last month amidst the unending fallout, saying that The Witcher 3 is one of the best games of all-time and that he really got “stuck into” the series after being cast.

One of the reasons fans latched onto Cavill so much was because he was a fan of the source material, so maybe seeing Hemsworth share a similar passion for The Witcher will give him a fighting chance to prove himself in the role.
