Coronation Street airs dramatic exit for Damon Hay

But is he gone for good?

Damon Hay has made an exit from Coronation Street… at least for now.

Friday’s dramatic episode (June 23) saw Adam Barlow determined to get revenge on romantic rival Damon Hay by searching through Paul Foreman’s file for dirt.

Dee-Dee Bailey caught Adam in the act and confiscated the file before her law partner could do anything with it. Adam then turned to Paul to get some information from him about their dodgy car thefts.

Adam was able to track down Damon’s criminal contact Niall to claim that Damon was planning to grass on him to the police.

Meanwhile, Damon actually seemed as if he was ready to turn the corner by making a huge presentation for the bistro to the Weatherfield Market Association.

Nick and Leanne were impressed by the amount of work Damon had done for his pitch, yet he was soon on the back foot again thanks to Adam.

Adam revealed that Niall had come to believe Damon was going to become a police informer, forcing Damon’s hand to go on the run at a moment’s notice.

Damon tried to warn Sarah, as he quickly packed up his belongings, by leaving her a voicemail explaining that she has no idea how dangerous Adam can be.

“Because of Adam, I have to leave for a while,” Damon explained. “He set me up and I’ve got a major problem.”

Adam was very pleased with himself as he returned home, only to notice that Damon had left Sarah a voice message. The lawyer slyly deleted the message before Sarah had any idea what he’d done.

While it may look like Damon is out of Sarah’s life for good, a Coronation Street spokesperson has suggested this may not be the last she sees of her former lover.

“There’s definitely some unfinished business between Sarah and Damon, Adam would like to believe this is the end of Damon but whether it is or not remains to be seen,” a representative told Digital Spy.
