Jon Bon Jovi reacts to son’s engagement to Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown
Jon Bon Jovi has given his blessing to son Jake’s engagement to Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown.
Last month, 19-year-old Millie announced that she would be marrying 20-year-old actor Jake after dating for about two years.
Jake’s famous dad weighed in on the engagement during an interview with Andy Cohen on Sirius XM Radio, where he pointed out that three of his four children are engaged right now.
Andy mentioned that getting engaged young is something of a tradition in the Bon Jovi family since the rock star is married to his high school sweetheart Dorothea.
“I don’t know if age matters if you find the right partner and you grow together,” Jon explained. “I think that would be my advice really, would be, growing together is wise.”
He added: “I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with and we like ’em all.”
When Andy asked whether Bon Jovi has become a fan of Stranger Things, the rocker said with a laugh: “I’ve seen it, of course. Millie is wonderful. Her whole family are great, really. Jake is very, very happy.”
The engagement has also been supported by Millie’s Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp, who was among the first to congratulate the couple on social media.
Jamie Campbell may play the monstrous Vecna in the Netflix series, but he was charming in real life as he also congratulated his “little sis” on such a huge moment.
To announce the engagement, Millie quoted pal Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’ lyrics, writing in an Instagram post: “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.”
