5 Worst Law & Order: SVU Departures That Still Keep Viewers Up At Night

Even those who came back deserved much better.

It’s always hard to say your goodbyes to the character you grew to love, especially if they were present for quite a while. However, not every exit is the same.

While some departures leave a very slight sadness in your heart which goes away with every new episode you watch, others make you so angry it’s impossible to let go.

Here are 5 Law & Order: Special Victims Unit exits fans would pay a lot of money to get reshot and rewritten just to do justice to the characters.

Chester Lake

A character the fans never got closure about. It’s hard to be either happy or sad about his fate, as no one really knows what happened to him after he was loaded into a car that drove off. Supposedly written off due to his poor reception, he remains one of the biggest mysteries in the fandom.

Dana Lewis

Although her exit is somehow explained by the episode being based on a real-life story and the writers just doing justice to it, many viewers still believe that they really did her dirty. Some even go so far as to say they still can’t watch her last episode because they’re so angry that her character was completely ruined by the murder.

Mike Dodds

If SVU wanted to get rid of Dodds Jr. so badly, they could have just let him go. Getting shot on your last day on the force is the most unfortunate way to die, and many fans agreed with Olivia Benson, who actually blamed herself for what happened. Besides, watching his father break down was absolutely heartbreaking for everyone.

Sister Peg

To this day, SVU fans believe that this death was not only one of the worst decisions made by the showrunners, but also the worst execution.

Of course, Peg was shot for shock value, but with how quickly everything went down, it almost felt inconsequential, like they didn’t want people to pay too much attention to it.

Elliot Stabler

Of course, unlike those characters who were actually killed off without any possibility of coming back, Stabler basically took a 10-year hiatus.

What rubbed fans the wrong way was that he lost all communication with Benson, no matter how much she struggled. Many felt that Stabler had betrayed them on her behalf.
